Replacing isozone handlebar
I have a 2022 Trek FX 3 disc with the isozone grips and after a summer with it, I think either my hands/nerves have gotten significantly worse even with the isozone, or I need more variation. My hands are going numb at least twice as fast as they used to, riding the same routes/roads.
So, I'm going to try variation as I'm not sure that my hands/nerves have gotten significantly worse in one year.
On my prior flatbar hybrid, I added Ergon 2s and I really liked them. I added them 7-10 years ago and I believe they helped significantly at that time. I want to try with Ergon 2 or 3s.
The Trek FX 3 disc comes with 660mm wide bars and I am comfortable with that width. What I don't seem to find is options of 660mm wide bars. Most are 800mm. MoBi has 10 of 660mm width and the ones not in cruiser style are carbon. I don't want to spend at the level of carbon. MoBi has 374 at 800mm. Is the idea to just cut them (if metal) to the desired width, or do I just have to have to go to 800mm wide bars?
If it is to just cut, do I use a pipe cutter or a hacksaw?
Thanks.
