I bonked today bad. Squats are fine as long as I stayed in zone 2, but I met up with some guys and we pushed it. After I broke off I went to do another 20 miles in zone 2 and blew up. Also cycling all geared up feels like i’m pedaling through water. Maybe it’s the combination of cold air and all gear up. Anyways I was putting around at 116 watts trying to get home and my heart rate was chilling at the 150 bpm. If I went any slower I would have been going back wards.
I know that tights and leg warmers sap power somehow. With the tights I can actually feel the resistance at the knees. And I don't have to tell you that cold air is denser.
