Shimano 'spacing'. If you get an RD8000 GS you're good up to 34 probably 36 and you'll have enough chain wrap.
Right now I'm running SRAM Force mid-cage RD with a Shimano 11-34T cassette and 6800 34/50 crankset. No problems.
I think 36T would be pushing the limit as the RD is rated for a 32T max.
