Same for the rear bridge - I grabbed a later Pletscher-made rack for my '80 Sports to hide it, even though the rack is near useless. Did the trick.

Thanks. Yes, dynamo lighting will be the way to go on this bike. No batteries to go empty on me either, which is definitely a plus.

Covering up the rear plate bridge is an excellent idea. But it won't be a rear rack. Don't like them. Maybe a rear light or a saddle bag support?
