A savvy shop owner would've broke them down & sold the hoops & DT 240's at cost as customer returns rather than the whole thing as a loss. Or given it to an employee & taken the tax benefit as a charitable contribution or counted it as inventory shrinkage at full value or some other means.

As a guy in meatspace, the cyberspace end gave red flags of scam. Lord knows what my credit card number would sell for on the Schwarz Market.
If you look at only the-house's site, and don't do any other research, the first reaction of it being a scam...or the wheels are trash...or something else isn't right, is understandable. Others posted the same reaction early on. With a small amount of effort on the magical intarwebz, it was discovered that these might be a legit great deal for people who need that specific configuration of wheel. Parting out this wheel makes zero sense, and is likely to net less than the whole wheelset, with more effort, and a longer time frame.
