I looked real hard at locally available Shimano shoes last time I was shopping for MTB shoes. They seemed like they were half a Euro size different than my Sidis. Can't remember if it they were a little too big or a little too small, but I do remember that my normal size didn't fit and a Euro size larger or smaller didn't either, so they were just a "part" of a size off. Frankly, I liked the Shimano Boa closure better than the funky Sidi proprietary boa-like closure, but the fit wasn't there. I was lucky to find an online source for the Sidi Dominator and since I was confident in the fit from my experience with Sidi Genius road shoes, it worked out.
