Thanks for the link, I'm trying to preserve the original paint and decals on a vintage Raleigh but the vintage Carlton crests on the seat tube and fork blades are completely gone. I want to replace them but didn't want them looking new, I will try this on something else first but it looks like it will give the desired weathering.
