This is quite possibly the ONLY time I have ever heard ANYONE say that. Unless you are getting free bikes you are really risking your nice bike by racing it...it may not be a demolition derby but there are crashes in the majority of races and a custom Ti IF is NOT the bike I would be racing. I think every I want to race thread I have seen has included some comment from a racer telling the poster to get a cheap, yet quality frame that is easy to replace in case of an wreck which is exactly what the OP is doing. If when I start racing I sure as heck wont be doing it on my Roubaix...I will be getting something like a Cannondale or Fuji SL to do that on.
