yes - the OEM brakes are fairly good

but I have better brakes on another bike (CX1) - so this motivated the upgrade to the Q1D when I was planning to replace brake pads (the new calipers included pads)

also had annoying issue with the front caliper - intermittent pad drag ... caliper (piston) possibly hanging up
