That sounds like good work that you're doing, and will be helpful for learning what your body can do. Something to keep in mind, raw peak power is only part of the game. One of the biggest challenges for newer racers is the surge before the sprint even starts, and being able to get to - and maintain - a good spot on the pack. Very commonly, people burn all their matches in the surge, and are empty when it comes time to actually sprint.

We were working on that too. He was getting on me because the times I was leading out I was slowly speeding up before the jump. Burning matches, before the sprint even happened. He wants it to be a snap like reflex. It’s going to take some practice for sure. He knows from experience he is good for 250 meters. That’s his limit and when he goes to races he put a mark 250 meters from the finish.

I plan on doing the work out again on Thursday. It was fun and not to hard. He wants me to do it 1-2 times a week. Intervals 30x30 and maybe 30x20 will start in a couple weeks.
