I had that exact frame in 1983. Looked awesome in red under the Xmas tree when i got it as a 15yr kid. The red paint was more like an anodizing over the chrome and chipped off like crazy. At the time it was about 100 quid cheaper than a Colnago Nuovo Mexico (what I really wanted, in Saronni Red). I sold it, and a couple of years later, 1987 i believe, I picked up another Paganini, this time in an almost identical colour scheme to the Concorde frames that PDM used. They were being cleared out for 199 quid at Frodsham Cycles.
Welcome Slalomdude. Your frame may have had what was called Chromovelato or flambouyant finish- basically a translucent color coat over chrome (or sometimes over a reflective base coat). Don't wait another seven years before you next post!
