Anyone done an 'oil flush' as described below?
Ready for the first oil change on our tandem Rohloff Speedhub 14/30.
Directions and a couple of online videos have you inject the cleaning solution, ride for a bit, suck out cleaning+old oil, and inject new oil.
It seems clear from videos that dirty oil including cleaner remains in the hub.
I would not be happy with this scenario on my truck engine.
Why not get a second bottle of oil and do an oil rinse, suck that out, and inject clean oil? Is it too hard to suck out the unthinned oil?
The flush oil is to be drained before adding the new oil. Whatever source you are citing must have missed that step. It is best to do the oil change in warm conditions as the oil will flow more freely.
After adding the flush oil.,go for a ride shifting between 3rd and 5th gear as those gears will agitate the oil best giving the gears a good flush.
