This doesn't really answer OP's question, but fwiw: Maybe 10 years ago I was riding with the missus in some unknown area of Western New Jersey when she broke a spoke on her circa-2006 Ksyrium Elite rear wheel. Naturally, since there are only, what, 3 spokes total on a Ksyrium? (j/k) the wheel taco'd enough to be unrideable. We whipped out our trusty SmartPhones and found the nearest bike shop, limped the 1.5 miles there, and said "Can you replace this broken spoke?"

I didn't catch this LBS mechanic's name, but it may as well have been McGyver...because, while he didn't have any Mavic flat bladed spokes in stock, he was somehow able to jury-rig a standard off-the-shelf round J-bend spoke such that it would work on this Ksyrium Elite wheel. ~8 years later when we sold that wheelset that oddball spoke was still working fine.

So in summary, what OP is asking is probably possible. :::shrugs:::
