I suppose it is also more common for a disc to be on the rear , perhaps with a separate control as a drag brake.What is scary about it? I don't know about the brakes themselves. Just that the brake levers seem not as easily accessible as they could be when you're riding with your hands on the portion of the bar near the shifters. In an emergency, whatever time it takes to go from that position to the brakes might seem like an eternity.
