Yes you have a "Modern version" A-9 so the spec I noted from Sutherland's might not apply, 39.8 was for the "old version" A-9 with angled roller bearings...they might be close but I don't have that spec, however you say you have 7.5mm of threading, that should work fine.
The threading on a OLD alloy A-9 lock-top nut (one I have anyway) is no more than 7mm, (wish I could be more accurate but the 'depth rod' on my caliper broke off!)
