I think (people correct me if I'm wrong) a rear 160mm adapter has the same geometry as a front 180mm adapter (I know Shimano has separate models for 180mm front and 160mm rear), so (I think) you could get a 180mm rotor and turn your current adapter right side up and it would work.

Whoa. I did not know there were 2 rotor widths. Yes, the pads do hang down past the rotor and encounter the rotor arm, the rotors are XT level, unsure of model number. Well frig, I have to get new rotors now. <sigh> Does the pain ever stop?
