Canada road fatality

https://www.rwcpulse.com/redwood-cit...temple-6834671

Cyclist was killed Monday on probably the most well known, traversed, and widest bike lane in the whole area. It was at a T intersection where a steep hill joins the main road, and I had assumed the cyclist had turned onto Canada with speed and misjudged, but my buddy was at the scene shortly after it happened and he said it looked like the cyclist was just straight up ran over. Another article I read (not this one) also suggested he was just ran over from behind. How does that even happen on Canada road, its like the safest road around. Guess not...

Hit me kind of hard to hear that he likely wasn't even doing anything negligent, and on the road he was on.... just doesn't make sense to me. Car must have been drunk or something.

Does anyone have information about this?
