One last thing: the guidelines (and some fellow posters in the thread) say that i wouldn't need spacers for this setup. However, there indeed remains a small gap in the DS when i insert everything in. Alternative, i can put the DS flush with the cup if i insert a spacer to the NDS. Any thoughts on this? Might be related to the measurements i provided earlier (the length of the 24mm area and the cup).

I don't how now pictures about this, but the gap is clearly visible.
All BB systems have a way of dealing with variations in BB shell width - +/- 68mm wide. In the case of GXP, the crank pinches the NDS bearing between the 24mm lip and the left crankarm. The right bearing floats on the spindle so it can be out at 70mm wide or in at 66mm wide. It isn't supposed to bottom out on the right crank. No spacers!

This only works because the left bearing is threaded into the frame, so it can't move to the left and neither can the spindle. On pressed in bearings you need spacers and a wave washer on the right side to prevent that drift to the left.

You don't need spacers, except for the splined one that goes between the left arm and the BB. If one wasn't included, it is not needed.
