Carson asked him about the blowback and Jimi said "I thought it was beautiful." Perfect answer. I think it was the same show where his amplifier quit in the middle of Red House.

Of all the music coming out in the 60s I was most excited about Jimi Hendrix. The loss of Jimi hit me harder than any of the other icons of music during that era. A big disappointment.

But you may be right. These days it might stir up the crazies, or it might not.
