I took my Koga-Miyata "bitsa" out for a test ride today, to see what it needed for the upcoming summer. As I rode by my favorite LBS, I thought I'd pick up a 9-speed chain, so I'd have a spare for this bike.
But they know me as "that guy", I didn't get away with just buying a spare part.
Apparently one of their customers had dropped of a box of old spare Campagnolo parts with an "if you know anyone for these ...". I took a quick glance at the contents of the box and did a quick calculation of what I thought was a fair price, money changed hands, and I borrowed a strap.
This was the result:
I had valued the box based on the parts I had seen and would be able to use. An NOS 27.2 seatpost was one of those:
