The problem with the Brooks is not the seatpost, but the funky way Brooks does the saddle rails. I too tried one on my Pave to no avail. Brooks limits the amount of fore/aft by design....but I have no reason why. If you are looking for a harder saddle, try the Avatar or Alias line which Specialized makes and will fit the post.
