After Canyon spent years trying to create a carbon fiber suit of armor, they were disappointed to learn that almost nobody races with a broadsword or machete, mostly due to aerodynamics.
To my knowledge, it’s not yet illegal to ride the Giro with sword. The last time the winner of the Giro was carrying a sword was in the 1700’s. The goal was different then, as competitors had to intimidate peasants into inventing the bicycle.
Is that more clear now?
