A 1x8 setup may not give you sufficient gears for light gravel, so you may have to go further than I did to a 1x10 setup with an MTB rear derailleur.
That’s awesome. Thanks for the link. I forgot to mention it in my op but 1x10 is what I had in mind. I wish I could do 11 or even 12 but I don’t want to have to change the rear wheel or hub.
