I’ve done McKenzie twice during two different Cycle Oregons. Great ride, and the weather mostly cooperated. Totally clear going west from Sisters. A little light rain heading east from Rainbow, but it cleared long before the summit. I remember stopping and reading the plaque dedicated to the mail carrier who had died in the snow trying to cross.
The technical portion of the descent heading west was crazy. Despite a warning the night before to use caution, I saw two people who had overcooked corners and ended up in the trees, but they weren’t hurt.
