The brake holes were a bit mangled by a previous user of the bike so a recessed front bolt and a donated gugie brake insert saved the rear. I also happened to have exactly that combination of brakes with a drop bolt rear to make it work. There are some details of the brake saga in the linked thread.
I like to call this "sympathetic" building, sussing, wrangling, etc.

Close as I can get without waiting, spending to no avail, true enough to the spirit of the day, then and now.
