It is unusual for a road bike to be specced with 26" wheels. (The only time I have seen it is with small touring bikes).

Unless it is disc brake, it will be hard to change wheel sizes. Unless the frame and fork were designed for larger-diameter wheels to begin with, it is unlikely you can size up.
