Here in Louisiana our road cycling is risky as drivers are of the mind that we are infringing on their road, so my wife and I tend to ride on a rail to trail that is near Covington Louisiana, as much as I am cautious regarding the E bike phenom what i see is people out in Nature that otherwise would not be, that has to be good for the brain at least, BUT... the speed at which some of these people ride is concerning, the trail which is tarmac has a 15 mph speed limit there are walkers and all myriad of types along the trail, looks like E stuff is here to stay for a good while, I imagine they will have to clamp down on the performance of these things, its bad enough when the "Real" cyclist pack comes swooping through at 25 mph, but two novices wobbling along at 25 mph with no sense of when to stop and go is very concerning, given that those ebikes are heavy and fast its only a matter of time before "it all ends in tears".
