abarkley-I hope no one minds,I have posted this bike before. It is a late 70's bike(brit frame ) with "normal" handlebars so my 55 yo body doesn't have to bend. The bars were~ $11-maybe 8 lbs sterling or 9+Euros.I also added an old Swan style stem, but you won't really need that unless you are a full on wimp like me.You will need some cheapo used brake levers-I think these are old BMX levers, but any MTB types will do.This will make biking fun instead of a torture test. You can set it up so you can sit bolt upright like the 1 billion Chinese you might see riding to work(on TV of course, why in the heck would I go to china-nothing particular against china, but if I want an overcrowded filthy city I can go to NY,NY or LA,CA and at least I can speak the language))Luck,Charlie
PS-Put the fattest, lowest pressure clincher tires you can fit on the rims.It would be a rare 70's bike that can't take at least 35mm clinchers-you can go as low as 60 lbs-depending on your wt.
