The correct tools ALWAYS make the job easier.

I tried to remove a Phillips-head screw using the corner of a flathead screwdriver. Did it work? I guess. Eventually I got the screw out. Would it have been easier with the correct Phillips head driver?

I think we all know the answer to that.
