Bike weight is overvalued by most cyclists since it's something that can be quantified and compared. I agree even a pound or two is not especially significant for the vast majority of cyclists.
For example, my Titanium bike weighs in at about 19 pounds but does not seem to be holding me back compared to my friends who mostly ride CF bikes that are 2 pounds lighter.
Plus, aero trumps weight anyway, right??
Oh, come now! You know this isn't the proper experimental design! You need to get a bike 2 lbs lighter and test it!
