I disagree with facing or reaming for paint and if you screw it up when it wasn't needed, well.... you can't put material back so you better be damn sure its truly warranted and capable if you go there.

You have probably seen my rants about BB's and fixed cups, every one that I work on comes out for service, threads, torque, grease, close inspection and so it will come out later when needed without a huge unnecessary fight and or mess, period.
tbf, as far as I can tell, it's only freshly repainted frames that he uses the facing tool on, but I think he does chase the threads on all the BBs.
