Because I hadn't tested the capacity of the Harbor Freight 6L cleaner, I wanted to take the opportunity to visit my local shop with a 52T Sugino in tow.
Overall, the unit feels pretty good. It seems built well from what I can tell. But the proof is in the usage, of course. The metal basket is nice compared to the plastic tray that came with my 2.5L. And when adding the chainring, it probably covers 75-80% of the entire chainring before it rises above the MAX line (see below). Not a big deal to me to have to rotate it 180 degrees to clean the entire ring. So, it passes that test.

I'd say this isn't a bad deal but the Harbor Freight reputation still worries me. I was sent a link for this Vevor at roughly the same price but at 10L. So, bark_eater, I'm interested in hearing more of a review from you once you've had some time with your 6L.

Also, when I walked up to the display, I did find it humorous that what was most prominent was the 2.5L model and even today, 10 years later from my purchase, you can get roughly the same model for $10 more than I paid for it, so long as you have whatever it takes to get the "Inside Track Club" discount. Inflation be damned at Harbor Freight!

Oh, one last item to note. Sometimes, while the cleaner is running, I'll call up a buddy and chat. I found that if you are on your phone and you touch the unit while it's operating, the person on the line gets an insanely unpleasant and annoying noise which might have them yell in shock/surprise or swear. I actually find it quite funny and have done it a few times just to see the reaction. "Oh! Sorry about that. I forgot it does that when I'm on the phone".
