that said.. the X3 rear derailleurs are low end, mostly plastic parts, and tend to be vague when shifted... on the plus side, they are tough to bend in crashes since the plastic wants to just return to it's manufactured shape. I installed one on a friend's DH bike.. he crashes a LOT... it worked until it was worn out... i replaced the hanger three times, and had straightened the hangers multiple times for him too... but that cheapo x3 rear der. just kept working! the pulleys finally wore out and got too sloppy to hold the chain in line.. they are NOT replaceable as they are Riveted in the cage. Normal use/care of the X3 would see a far longer life than on Dan's Fuji, i'd guess. the Fuji got retired when the frame began to crack at the drive side chain stay/BB junction... it had also had multiple rear wheels replaced (I lost count!), two new front wheels, and three different forks (one Broke, two worn out.) on it in 4 years...... !
I guess a x4 should also work? Those look more available locally.
