Zero people are telling you what you should or shouldn't buy. If the cheap Amazon jerseys make you happy, go be happy. Others have come to different conclusions regarding the benefits of more expensive cycling clothing.

EDIT: Despite the similar silhouette of being short-sleeved, a high-quality cycling jersey is definitely a different animal to assemble than a t-shirt.
