Why stop at only two?

Carry three and you have the complete set!
1) CO2 Cartridge for speed and/or laziness
2) Mini-pump for the days you want to get PUMPED UP and/or have multiple flats or when you stop to help that hottie without a pump.
3) Shock pump. Never know! That SAG might just be too much.

PS At first I thought you're being paranoid "if one fails," but then remember I had EXACTLY THAT HAPPEN on a Kettle Valley Railway tandem tour! Got a flat, and the mini-pump I was using split IN HALF and in the middle of nowhere! Dang! Got just enough air into the tire to hobble to the next campsite. Other campers had pumps... but for schrader valves! (This was '97 before today's new-fangled double-action pumps. And I failed to bring a little adapter...) But we survived to tell the tale!
