Road ride yesterday up to Malibu. Climbed Las Flores & Rambla Pacifica up to Saddle Rock - just under 3,000' climb. Descended Tuna Canyon. Had to stop half way down to let my rims cool off. I stayed off the brakes as much as I could, but it's just impossible for certain stretches. The rims (alloy) were almost too hot to touch. I was afraid of a blowout. Anyway, the temperature was great, although it was about 75% humidity.
worry about descending tuna canyon on old school brakes. my rims hot as hades too. once past the oak trees and pitching down hard along the edge of the canyon, it ratchets up the "fun." descending deer creek much the same (and lower decker) but sightlines better.
