Does this happen in all of the cog/ring combos? If not in all combos which ones have this problem?
If you stand by the bike then move the crank around in that backwards direction and watch the chain flow through the rear der do you see any chain hops or snags? How about if you had a friend lift the rear wheel while toy pedal forwards with your hands?
I can imagine both simple adjustments being needed to fix this to there being bent or twisted parts. Hard to say more with so little data at this point. But I totally agree that if the bike is less than a year old returning to the dealer for their help is the best path to take. Andy
