Shimano 11sp GRX Rear Der Cable Stretch?
Hello,
Perhaps I should have said "housing compression" instead as we all know that these cables don't really stretch.
This is on a new bike currently with a bout 100 miles on it. The other day I was on a 60 mile ride and had to stop about a half a dozen times when the rear shifting got wonky to tighten the cable. I finally tightened it about a turn and a half before arriving home. The inner cable is tight at the rear der. so the only places for housing compression are the frame to der noodle and the main cable to the shifter.
I am new to GRX and 11sp in general. I also did not install the shifters so something may be screwed up there. Is there any way to easily check without removing the bar tape and shifter?
I seem to recall that there was an issue with 9 and 10 speed where the housing wires would eat into the plastic ferrules causing this issue. This was pretty easily fixed by going to metal ferrules. Does the 11sp have this same weakness and is there a recommended fix?
Thank,
Steve
