Why wait? My local LBS inspected it on Friday, got it back on Saturday. No issues for me, but he did say my creaking was likely from a dry BB and loose chainring bolts.

It seems like their process is up and running for inspection and documentation, though they hadn’t yet flagged a crank that needed replacement. Supposedly, Shimano isn’t promising a like-for-like replacement, and the LBS theorized that there was a possibility that replacement cranks could be from another line (ie, 105 replacing an Ultegra, R8100 replacing R8000?), or even different sizing (arms and chainrings), depending on what Shimano sends them. If that’s truly the case, I’d be disappointed. I wouldn’t want to bring in a Dura-Ace 50/34 172.5 and get an Ultegra 52/36 175 on the other end…
