Threadless was lighter. A new pedal standard is neither lighter nor safer.
The fretting damage and increased risk of
cranks cracking at the pedal interface.
And yes, threadless is both lighter and safer. I suppose only lighter works for marketing, sales, and making money.
But at least they are happy to sell us helmets.
