Yeah, you don't want to be grabbing the brake lever every time you want to shift gears.
I have ben riding a Rohloff equipped bicycle since 2013 and put a left hand Rohloff shifter. I have posted before about the CPSC being misinterpreted on the position of the front brake. I would seem some bicycle shops don't know how to read on this subject. I never had any confusion on shifting and using the brakes.
