I finished refurbishing my Marinoni Special that I bought last summer...
Then, I realized that I did not really have a project that interested me. I should add that I have been looking for a mountain bike lately. And, sure enough, the dump near my lake cottage coughed up this gem, a Devinci with Ford team livery (not sure what that actually means)...
So, I started in on the Devinci, only to find that the right control lever clamp was broken. Fifty dollars later, a NOS set arrived in the mail. Handle bar tape and that's that for dollars spent. A few hours of fix and adjust, and I now have my really cool old mountain bike (total cost so far is $50 US)...
However, shortly after starting work on the Devinci, two more freebies came my way, gift from a neighbor who is moving away. So, a very interesting very light Trek with a Rolf wheel set, again very original but somewhat corroded condition. I know for sure that I need a front derailleur (mine is seized solid with aluminum oxide)...
The third free-bee, a little used and very original Specialized Sirrus joined my stable...
The Trek is a keeper and I am willing to spend a buck or two to make it nice. The Sirrus will probably be parted out (I want the wheel set for my Marinoni) and offered as a frame/fork set next summer. Anyway, been a pretty good summer in the great northwest.
