Wonderful thing about post CPSC pad holders, the safety plastic chips right off, revealing pre-CPSC pad holders.
I would leave em alone, attrition, upgrade's and replacements all can be reasoning for them not being original, especially this far down the line.
If you strip off the plastic and they don't match each other or are blank altogether, you will be chastised by some no matter what.
