Reloading the page should reset the token. Trying to post to a page where the token has expired will likely lead you to the path you ended up in. If you refresh the page before trying to post in it, it should reset the token and work properly.
Reloading the page to check for updated content is what appears to cause the problem.

Several days to a week or two usually with a shutdown overnight.. So if those tokens expire so quickly that may be a bogus error message. And it doesn't seem to do it all the time either as this thread has (so far) behaved as it should. Yet, I have a couple of other threads open that I bet as soon as I hit reload the problem will surface.

You can also subscribe to threads that you want to follow, and not only have quick and easy access to those threads, but also get notified of changes and new posts to those threads. Heckuva lot easier than leaving multiple old threads open in your browser indefinitely. I honestly never met anyone who did that in 26 years of administering discussion forums.
I normally subscribe to threads. However, as I stated email notifications can sometimes be sketchy and fail... and once the forum sends out one notification (and you never get it) the forum will never send out any more so the chain is broken. Been burned by this before hence my manual reload M.O.
