I have the Mondia Special, it rides nothing like you described. It a full 531 frame, definitely a very very fine bike on par with the top touring bikes of it day. It's very comfortable, I'll take this over the Paramount everyday.
I hope it's obvious that the Mondia I rode is not your bike and my reaction to that bike it is not meant as any sort of slur upon yours.
