Absolutely. Food banks are for people in actual food poverty. Not having money for food because you bought a brand new bike is not actual food poverty. You can always sell the bike.
Food banks are meant to be an absolute last resort, and at least here are woefull oversubscribed.
Would you be OK with someone using a food bank because they spent all of their money on beer? Because you're logically in the same position.
