Yes - I do - Denmark and Norway. 6 Different 7 speed and 8-speed hubs. in rain - Most days a year with bikes always outside. My last / speed IGH lastes for more that 8.000 km before the axle was too worn to rebuild.
But just like your experience it is just anecdotal
