- a: Any route planner (including RWGPS). b: No. You can get free maps (don't buy them from Garmin.
One issue is that you might need to get a mount for it.
There are eTrex 20x offered on eBay for $70+. I have no idea if people are buying them.
I'd guess that it wouldn't be too hard to sell it on eBay for about what you got this one for (if you ended up deciding it doesn't work for you).
So, this might be an opportunity to try it out.

The Edges need the Latin version of maps (unicode doesn't work on them). Not sure about the eTrex.
