I have a hybrid bike with bolt-on wheels but wanted to replace the front tyre. I have a spare wheel but it's a quick release.

Would it be better to fit the bolt in the new wheel, or do I have to use a quick release skewer? If quick release, is it just put the skewer though and tighten, or is there more to it than that?
