I’m repurposing a vintage mountain bike into an indoor trainer, using vintage Cinelli drop bars. The diameter of the upper bar is about 23.8 mm. Can I use a SunRace friction thumb shifter with its clamp of 22.2 mm? The original indexed Shimano thumb shifter is dead.
